Jumana is currently a Research Associate at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) at KACST and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At CCES, Jumana is working on the Innovation Space and the Urban Transit System. Her research is focused on Interaction design, usability issues, social computing and stakeholders modeling. Jumana received her degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in Human-Computer Interaction. During her graduate program, she worked as user experience designer for Amazon in which she looked into ways to visualize complex product information to help shoppers make informed buying decisions using small viewpoints like mobile phones. As part of her assigned projects at the University of Michigan She also created interactive toys and tools to encourage the engagement of senses and social interactions. She also was a finalist at the design competition in CHI 2015 in Korea. Her work was focused on designing a tool that helps natives who are away from their origins to reconnect with their community and learn the language. Jumana and her team received a scholarship from the University of Michigan to present their work in Seoul, Korea during CHI 2015. Jumana’s interests include interactions design, user research, customers experience, social computing, toy design.
