Waleed Alhayaza

Waleed M. Alhayaza is currently a Research Specialist at the Center for Complex Engineering Systems (CCES) in King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in December 2017, with a major in Engineering Leadership Development. In September 2017, he received a recognition from the dean of the College of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University as a Grand Challenge Scholar. The recognition requirements were to complete five key elements. First, was completing a hands-on project and a research experience. Second, interdisciplinary curriculum. Third, entrepreneurship experience. Next, global dimension experience. Finally, service learning. At CCES, Waleed is working on building an optimization model to optimize the water resources in Riyadh by utilizing the reclaimed water treatment in Riyadh.
